Helpful Hints for the High-Strung

Over time, I’ve become increasingly intrigued by the optical-illusion toy known as the thaumatrope. When I started thinking of words and phrases that might work well with this sort of magical fusing, playfulness took over and led to this book, which incorporates six thaumatropes related to the book’s title. Helpful Hints for the High-Strung opens with instructions for using the thaumatropes, and information about thaumatropes’ history and underlying principles appears in an afterword.
